Art Therapy Group for Adults:

Art changes us. When we create with an intention and presence, things shift in our minds & bodies. This space is for you to explore emotions, thoughts, grief, anxiety, to play and rest, to be creative and expand your circle of support.

Come experience art therapy in our studio at The Well with our licensed therapist, Lauren! This space is confidential and small. 3-5 people. She will guide you in a theme and creative prompt every Wednesday evening, 6-7pm.

You don’t need any art skills or “talent” to participate. You only need to be open to the process and willing to try something new. We use a range of materials in this group – you will get to try watercolor, oil pastels, paint, collage, printmaking and more!

Details:

  • Drop In / Open Group: Come for 1 and try it out! You can make it a one-time thing or make it a regular thing. Up to you!
  • When: Every Wednesday, 6-7pm
  • Cost: $40 per group (materials and sketchbook included)
  • Location: The Unwell Studio
  • Who: Adults (18+)

The Unwell Studio

The Unwell Studio is the art studio within The Well and in many ways the heart of The Well also. It was named as a play on words to highlight the messiness of being human and the process that unfolds when making art.
The Studio is fully functioning for a wide variety of art materials and while it supports brave clients in therapy sessions during the week – it transforms into an equally warm and supportive creative space for artists and community members for workshops and groups at night and on the weekends.
Our studio is small and cozy. It fits 6 people max at one time and makes for an authentic and inviting space for all levels of art makers. We have 2D drawing supplies, paints, printmaking, collage and mixed media, clay, model magic, plaster, inks and more!

Therapist Expertise:

Lauren Frandsen is a licensed associate therapist who specializes in expressive and experiential modalities (sand, art, clay) and relationships.

The Well’s art therapists have an integrated lens to support the complex needs that come with trauma. We prioritize having a calm and welcoming space. We are here to help you find what you need.

We are in the heart of Downtown Mesa!
